FAQs

Here are some of the questions that we’re asked most often. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, please get in touch via the “contact us” link

Answer:
No we do not provide housing but we do work closely and in partnership with registered social landlords and we can signpost you towards them for support and advice.  We also have a lot of experience in supporting people with their housing needs and can advise you on that basis.

Answer:
We are commissioned by Herts County Council and following assessment of needs they will agree an amount for each individual’s support and this is paid directly to Partners in Support.  Alternatively, some people use their individual budgets / direct payments to purchase service directly from us.

Answer:
Many of the people we support have tried living with others and have found it very difficult for various reasons, living on their own has enabled them to shape their support and environment specifically for them.  With careful matching of staff and structured opportunities for people to socialise ‘their way’ means that loneliness is not a big problem.  If people would prefer to share their home, we’d happily support this too.

Answer:
Definitely! People and their nearest and dearest are involved in all recruitment if they want to be and in a way which best suits them. Some people like to be involved in the formal interview whilst others find it more helpful to meet candidates after we have formally interviewed them in a more relaxed and comfortable environment such as at home or going out for coffee.  Whichever option works best, we would not recruit someone unless we all agree that they are the best person for the job.

Answer:
The 6 monthly person-centred reviews which we facilitate, help us to understand what’s working, what’s not working and future goals.  The outcomes from these discussions form an action plan for the team to implement with the person.  These reviews are held in a way which the person chooses and range from traditional type meetings to gatherings in a pub or at home.   The person, their families and other key people are invited to play an active part in these reviews.
